Maszlee Malik alleged support for Anwar - Report

KUALA LUMPUR: Simpang Renggam MP, Dr Maszlee Malik has been revealed for giving an affidavit (SD) in support of PKR President Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as prime minister.

Maszlee's support for Anwar was reported by the MalaysiaNow portal on Saturday.

The report quoted the source as saying that Maszlee's actions could further deteriorate his relationship with Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

"Maszlee's action will further deteriorate his relationship with Dr Mahathir.

"The last time Maszlee was advised from his former boss was when he resigned as a Cabinet minister," said the source, who did not reveal his identity.

On Friday, Maszlee was one of the MPs who also sent a motion of no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

Maszlee, who resigned as education minister during the Pakatan Harapan administration, was one of the individuals behind the effort to establish the Parti Pejuang Tanah Air, founded by Dr Mahathir.
