MCA will attract more young people to join the party as early preparation to strengthen the party machinery for the 14th General Election (GE-14).
Vice-president, Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong said this was necessary because young people would form a new party leadership which could be expected to provide continuous service to the people.
"With existing leadership talents possessed by the younger generation, they are easily accessible, enabling them to help the people.
"This indirectly gives continuity to the party, in addition to restoring the people's confidence in us," he told reporters after launching the Klang MCA service centre here on Saturday.
Wee, who is also minister in the Prime Minister's Department, also reminded MCA leaders and members to remain committed and serve the people, regardless of their political ideology.
"If previously the Klang MCA service centre was closed because we lost twice in the general elections (2008, 2013), today we expand operations. The centre is not limited to only party members but to all locals who need any help," he said.
