MCA will hold an extraordinary general meeting (EGM) on Feb 23 to review the party's decision to bar its members from accepting any position in the Cabinet.
Party president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said the EGM would be held after MCA's 65th anniversary celebrations at its headquarters in Jalan Ampang.
"The EGM would begin at 11.30 am after the ceremony at 9 am," he told reporters after chairing the MCA central committee meeting, Thursday.
At its AGM in 2011 and 2012, MCA resolved not to accept any post in the government should the party fare badly in the 13th general election.
During an EGM on Oct 20 last year, delegates rejected a motion to retract the resolution but supported two other motions allowing party members to accept appointments such as senator, or at state level including as state executive councillors.
Liow said 1,934 or 81.26 per cent of the 2,385 party delegates signed a petition recently agreeing to the EGM.
On the Kajang by-election, Liow said MCA would set up its operations room on Sunday to mobilise its election machinery.
"MCA is in readiness and I will instruct deputy president Datuk Wee Ka Siong to chair the by-election committee," he said.
