MCA today vehemently rejected the 'Himpunan Rakyat Bersatu' dubbed by many as 'anti-Lowyat' rally, scheduled to be held soon in the capital.
Its president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said the rally could threaten the nation's peace and harmony.
"Therefore, we want the authorities to investigate the rally for safety reason.
"We are worried that the rally will spoil racial unity. It is not easy to build it, but within a day it could collapse," he told reporters after opening the Federal Territory MCA Annual Convention at Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina (SJKC) Wangsa Maju here.
Media reported that the rally, scheduled to be held on Sept 16 and Oct 10 at Bukit Bintang and Petaling Street, is the response towards the recent Bersih 4 illegal rally.
