MCO: 401 individuals arrested for violation

A total of 401 individuals were arrested by the Royal Malaysian Police for violating the Movement Control Order (MCO) nationwide on Sunday.
Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the number of arrests dropped compared to the previous day's 414 people.
He said the latest figure had led to a cumulative arrest total of 24,081 individuals so far.
"The PDRM together with the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) had also conducted 819 roadblocks nationwide and inspected 441,036 vehicles.
"A total of 36,434 surprise inspections were conducted nationwide with 6,567 premises being inspected by the authorities," he said in a daily press conference here Monday.
In the meantime, Ismail Sabri said as of yesterday, an additional 75 sanitation operations covering 21 red and yellow zones in eight states, including 40 operations in Johor and 12 operations in Melaka, had been carried out.
To date, he said, a total of 5,217 public sanitation operations have been implemented in 65 yellow and red zones nationwide.
"The sanitation operations include 2,870 government buildings; 2,008 public places; 2,182 business centres; 1,528 residential areas including public housing projects (PPR) and 312 supermarkets," he said.
