MCO: 472 including 32 individuals trying to cross state, districts detained

KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 472 individuals were arrested with 452 compounded and 15 others remanded for disobeying orders of the Movement Control Order (MCO) on Friday, said Senior Minister (Defence Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
He said 32 of those compounded committed the offence of trying to cross states and districts without permission.
"Yesterday (January 15), PDRM arrested 472 individuals for violating MCO standard operating procedures (SOP).
"Among the offences of disobeying the MCO directive include not wearing face masks (182), failing to provide equipment recording customer details (85), premises operating overtime and without permission (66), failing to comply with physical distancing instructions (65), cross-state and district without permission (32) and others (42)," he said in a media statement on Saturday.
Ismail explained that until yesterday, 54,292 inspections were carried out by the Compliance Operations Task Force team led by the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM).
“A total of 2,564 Compliance Teams involving 10,858 members have monitored 3,567 supermarkets, restaurants (4,706) as well as hawkers (1,765), factories (1,343), banks (3,288) and government offices (1,528).
"Also monitored were 989 land transport terminals, 244 water transport terminals and 88 air transport terminals," he added.
Meanwhile, Ismail said 65 illegal immigrants (PATI) were arrested and four land vehicles seized in Ops Benteng on Friday.
