MCO: 504 individuals detained for breaching SOP

Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said 494 individuals were compounded while 10 others remanded, including for the offence of not wearing face masks (145).
KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 504 individuals were arrested for violating the standard operating procedure (SOP) of the Movement Control Order (MCO) yesterday.
Senior Minister (Defence Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said of the total, 494 individuals were compounded while 10 others remanded.
“The offences recorded were not wearing face masks (145), failing to provide equipment to record customer details (92), no physical distancing (77), cross-district / state without permission (60), premises operate overtime / without permission (37) and others (93)," he said in a statement on Saturday.
In addition, Operation Benteng (Op Benteng) yesterday arrested 41 illegal immigrants (PATI) and seized two boats/ships and three land vehicles.
"During the operation, 155 boats/ships were also detected in the country's waters through five surveillance activities. Op Benteng involved PDRM, Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM), Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (APMM) and Malaysian Border Security Agency (AKSEM) and agencies
“Other security forces also carried out 445 roadblocks (SJR) yesterday," he added.
Ismail Sabri said the Compliance Operations Task Force led by PDRM conducted 53,201 inspections yesterday to monitor and enforce MCO SOP compliance.
A total of 2,882 Compliance Teams involving 12,043 members have monitored 3,398 supermarkets, 5,729 restaurants, 2,742 hawkers, 1,298 factories, 3,425 banks and 600 government offices.
Also monitored were 993 land transport terminals, water transport terminals (208) and air transport terminals (79).
