Developments within the hospitals are positive, with the number of patients who have recovered from COVID-19 exceeding that of new positive cases yesterday. However, the situation outside is more challenging and it is the public who must give it serious attention.
Many people who are 'safe' remain stubborn about not complying with the Movement Control Order (MCO), which once again has been extended a further two weeks.
This obstinate attitude puzzles Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob who yesterday said he wondered if the RM1,000 compound for the offence was perhaps too small for many people.
"I do not know why there are still many people who violate the MCO, I am not sure...maybe the RM1,000 is too small," Ismail Sabri who is also Defence Minister said.
In fact, Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin himself has many times urged the public to work with the frontliners in the hospital in the simplest way possible - by staying at home.
Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah has also said the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic has been somewhat curbed because of the MCO, but it is still at the middling stage and the efforts to prevent and control the spread of the disease must still go on.
He said as of yesterday, the number of patients who have fully recovered and allowed to be discharged from the hospitals was 222, more than the 118 positive new cases.
The cumulative number of cases which have fully recovered and discharged from the wards is now 1,830 which is 42.11 per cent of the total number of 4,346 cases.
So Malaysians should just 'just stay at home'. Stop the number of new cases, do not let the MCO go from stage three to four.
