MCO not extended in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Johor and Penang, to be replaced with CMCO
Senior Minister (Defence Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, said it will be replaced with a Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO).
KUALA LUMPUR: The Movement Control Order (MCO) 2.0 in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Johor and Penang which is scheduled to end this Thursday will not be extended.

Instead, Senior Minister (Defence Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, said it will be replaced with a Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO).

He said the decision was made after the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) confirmed that the COVID-19 case showed a declining trend with the infectivity rate decreasing from 1.2 to 0.8 per cent in those states.

"Meanwhile, Kedah, Kelantan, Negeri Sembilan, Sarawak and Perak remain with the CMCO status," he said in a press conference here, on Tuesday.

Ismail Sabri added that six other states, namely Melaka, Pahang, Terengganu, Sabah, and the Federal Territories of Putrajaya and Labuan will have their status changed from CMCO to the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) with Perlis remaining with RMCO status.
