Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has reiterated that the agriculture and fisheries sectors were allowed to operate throughout the Movement Control Order (MCO) period.
The Senior Minister (Security Cluster) said the directive was applicable to all related activities including manufacturing, logistics and the movement of vehicles transporting agricultural produce would not be restricted by the authorities.
“Every activity and operation related to the agricultural sector is allowed
“So, if anyone asks, can they go to plant rice, sow seeds and catch fish by fishermen? Everything is allowed as usual.
"We want to make it clear that not just the production but anything that has to do with the agricultural chain including the agricultural transport vehicles are allowed to operate as usual," he said at a press conference here, Sunday.
He explained the directive was implemented to ensure adequate agriculture supply especially to those dependent on the sector.
