MCO SOP violation: 509 more individuals arrested

The number of individuals detained for breaching the standard operating procedure (SOP) of the Movement Control Order (MCO) increased to 509 on Saturday compared to 326 the previous day.
Senior Minister (Defence Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said out of the total, 472 individuals were compounded while another 37 remanded.
According to the category of offences, entertainment centre activities recorded the highest number of cases with114, followed by the offence of not wearing face masks with 94 cases.
"Failure to provide equipment to record customer details recorded 92 cases; 91 cases for not practising physical distancing, as well as 58 offences involving cross-district or cross-state travel without permission.
"Premises operating overtime or without permission recorded as many as 44 cases; two cases of gambling activities as well as disobeying quarantine orders etc. one and thirteen cases respectively," he said in a statement here on Sunday.
In a similar development, Ismail Sabri said seven illegal immigrants (PATI) were detained in Operation Benteng with three land vehicles and one boat or ship seized.
In addition, a total of 411 roadblocks (SJR) were conducted nationwide.
