KUALA LUMPUR:A total of 131 individuals were arrested for not wearing face masks during the Movement Control Order (MCO) period on Monday.
Senior Minister (Defence Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said 311 of the 329 individuals detained were compounded, five remanded while 13 others were released on bail.
"Among the offences of infringing the MCO instructions included not wearing face mask (131), failing to comply with physical distancing (59), failing to provide equipment to record customer details (50), cross-state / district travel without permission (38). ) and others (51)," he said in a statement here, on Tuesday.
In the meantime, he said, Operation Benteng detained 88 illegal immigrants (PATI), five skippers and seized 13 land vehicles.
He said that a total of 261 roadblocks (SJR) under Operation Benteng were implemented.
He added that a total of 73,713 individuals have returned to the country to be housed at 76 hotels and 18 public training institutes (ILA).
"Of that number, a total of 10,152 individuals are undergoing compulsory quarantine while 405 individuals have been sent to hospital for treatment.
"A total of 63,156 individuals have been allowed to return. They have returned from 36 countries including the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Cambodia, Singapore and Vietnam," he said.
In the meantime, he said, the enforcement division of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) has made 652 daily monitoring on 12 types of supply of goods including retailers (458), wholesalers (161) and manufacturers (33).
KPDNHEP has also conducted 895 special RMCO SOP Compliance inspections.
