MCO violations: 306 individuals compounded, five remanded

KUALA LUMPUR:A total of 311 individuals have been arrested for violating the Movement Control Order (MCO), said Senior Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
In his media statement on Tuesday, Ismail explained that out of the 311 individuals detained by the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM), 306 were compounded while five others were remanded.
"Among the offences included 97 individuals for not wearing face masks and 75 individuals for failing to comply with physical distancing order.
"69 individuals failed to provide equipment to record customer details, 30 individuals committed cross-district/state CMCO offences without permission, 26 individuals due to entertainment centre activities and 14 individuals for other offences," he said.
Ismail Sabri also informed that on November 30, the Operation Benteng carried out by the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM), Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM), Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (APMM) and the Malaysian Border Security Agency (AKSEM) had successfully detained 14 illegal immigrants (PATI).
"Besides that, Op Benteng also managed to seize three boats and a land vehicle," he added.
He also informed that a total of 273 roadblocks have been implemented, namely 205 through Op Penawar involving ATM, PDRM and Rela, 59 through Op Benteng PDRM and 9 through Op Benteng AKSEM.
Ismail Sabri said from July 24 to November 30, 2020, a total of 79,128 individuals had returned to the country through the international border entrance.
He explained that all of them have been housed in 78 hotels and 17 public training institutes (ILA) as well as private studies institutes throughout the country.
"Of that number, a total of 11,270 individuals are undergoing the compulsory quarantine process while 502 individuals have been sent to the hospital for treatment.
