The Ampang Magistrate's Court has set Sept 11 for mention of a case involving actor Khaeryll Benjamin Ibrahim, better known as Benjy, and five friends for possession of drugs.
Majistrate Ayuni Izzaty Sulaiman fixed the date after allowing applications by counsel Farhan Read and P. G. Cyril to withdraw from representing their clients.
Earlier, Farhan told the court that he was withdrawing from representing Imran Radzi Ibrahim and that his client was informed of the matter.
Cyril also told the court he was withdrawing from representing Asmanizam Mohamed Akhir and Norazila Arzami as he did not get the instruction to represent the couple.
Meanwhile, Deputy Public Prosecutor Goh Ai Rene said the prosecution would amend the charges against all the accused but the matter would be presented on Sept 11.
Benjy, 34, and his friends, Zain Amir Zainal Khairi, 37, Imran Radzi, 32, Asmanizam, 32, Norazila, 27, and Afifi Hamidi, 27, were alleged to have been in possession of 4.7 grammes of methamphetamine at the Oakleaf Park Condo, Blok C, Persiaran Bukit Jaya, Taman Bukit Jaya, Hulu Kelang at 11.30am on June 26, this year.
However, Zain Amir pleaded guilty while Benjy and the rest claimed trial.
