The Meteorological Department Malaysia (MetMalaysia) today denied the rumour that there was a warning issued about strong storms being expected to hit the country.
In a statement issued today, MetMalaysia said the warning, which had gone viral on social media, especially Facebook and WhatsApp over the past few days, was untrue.
Instead, the public are advised to get accurate and detailed weather information and warnings through the MetMalaysia's website at www.met.gov.my, or Facebook page 'malaysiamet' or on Twitter @malaysianmet, the statement said.
The public can also obtain more information by contacting MetMalaysia's 24-hour hotline at 1-300-22-1638.
