"Even if my uncle's remains are incomplete, I am willing to accept them...so long as the remains can be buried to enable us to visit his grave in Syawal," said Nur Suazlin Dusuki, the niece of the pilot of Malaysia Airlines (MAS) Flight MH17 aircraft which crashed in eastern Ukraine on July 17.
Nur Suazlin, 25, said the family was prepared to accept the body of Captain Wan Amran Wan Hussin, 50, even if it was fated the body might not be in good condition.
"I can now accept the fact that 'Uncle Ran' has gone forever in the most tragic way," she said when contacted by Bernama at her residence in Kuala Kangsar, Perak Sunday.
On Saturday, a member of the Royal Malaysian Air Force's Special Malaysia Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team (Smart), Corporal Constatine Anji, 29, said many of the bodies in the MH17 crash were not in complete condition.
MH17 was flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur with 298 passengers and crew when it crashed in Donetsk, eastern Ukraine on July 17. The airliner was believed to have been shot but no party has come forward to claim responsibility.
Meanwhile in GEORGE TOWN, it will be a bleak Aidilfitri for the family of MAS MH17 stewardess Nur Shazana Mohamed Salleh.
Her mother, Sharom Ibrahim, 56, said the family members would not celebrate Raya this year as they were shocked and saddened by her demise.
Nur Shazana, 31, who worked as air stewardess for nine years was among 15 crew members and 283 passengers who perished in the MH17 crash.
"I could not bring myself to cook my daughter's favourite delicacies as the pain of her loss is still unbearable," she said when met at her residence in Bukit Gedung here Sunday.
Nur Shazana's father, Mohamed Salleh Samsuddin, 54, said she was the eldest of four children, and he had not expected last year's Raya celebrations would be her last with the family.
He said the family would be holding prayers for her during the festival and they had not decided whether to bury her in Sungai Ara here or Putrajaya.
