The Royal Malaysia Air Force (RMAF) has commissioned two Hercules C130 aircraft to bring back remains of the Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 crash victims.
Armed Forces Chief Tan Sri Dr Zulkifeli Mohd Zain said the aircraft will also carry extra RMAF personnel to assist the Special Malaysian Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team (SMART) in Ukraine.
"The aircraft will be put on standby and used if needed to carry out tasks," he told reporters at the Armed Forces Chief's Iftar function with RMAF staff and the RMAF college in Kepala Batas, near here Sunday.
He said they will add on 30 more personnel to help the rescue team which has already left for Ukraine with 10 medical personnel.
Two personnel from the Military Religious Corps were also sent to help the Islamic Development Department in managing the bodies of Muslim passengers.
At the function, Zulkifeli also presented Aidilfitri contributions to RMAF personnel and children who suffered from chronic illness.
