Acting Transport Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein praised the pilot of Malaysia Airlines flight MH192 who made a safe emergency landing at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).
The pilot was instructed to make a turn back towards KLIA by the Malaysia Airlines Operations Control Centre (OCC) as soon as air-traffic control informed of tyre debris found on the runway.
Hishammuddin was reported to be present at the airport during the emergency landing and greeted all passengers and crew of the aircraft, early Monday morning.
Hishammuddin uploaded photos of him with the passengers and crew of flight MH192 on his official twitter account, hours after landing.
MH192 departed for Bangalore at 10.09pm on Sunday but had to return to the airport after a landing gear malfunction upon take-off.
