The Chinese government has assured Malaysia that it was neither angry nor dissatisfied on how Malaysia handled the MH370 incident.

Instead, irresponsible reporting by the western media has been blamed which had caused hurt to the families and incited tension between both countries.

“We noticed that some western media had used baseless and wrong information that has caused dispute and controversy. Some of them are rumors that escalated and complicated the situation.

“We object to those reports that attempt to tarnish the good relationship between China and Malaysia,” said the Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia Huang Huikang at a press briefing on Wednesday.

Huang also extended his government’s gratitude to Malaysia for its continuous effort in the search and rescue (SAR) mission.

“We appreciate what the Malaysian side has done on SAR, investigation and pacifying the families. I have heard voice of criticism, but I think in dealing with such a rare incident, no one can handle it perfectly.

“We must join our strength in this difficult time,” Huang said adding that the Chinese government, like Malaysia, will spare no efforts in the SAR mission.

So far, China has galvanized 21 satellites, 11 ships and vessels and a number of aircraft to assist in the SAR mission – its largest ever international operation.

Five more ships and vessels are on their way to search areas in the southern Indian Ocean.

Huang also assured that bilateral relations between both countries will not be affected by the MH370 incident.

Programmes planned to commemorate the 40th anniversary of China-Malaysia diplomatic relations this year will be carried out as planned, including exchange of high level visits and the loan of two Chinese pandas to Malaysia.
