MH370: Foreigners believe SAR operation teams doing their best

The search and rescue (SAR) teams are still doing their best to find the missing Malaysia Airline (MAS) flight MH370 into the 12th day of the operation.

A number of foreigners interviewed expressed the belief that Malaysia and the 26 other countries participating in the operation, have the ability to locate the missing airplane.

Nick Pronesti, from Alabama, US, was of the opinion that the SAR operations were not too slow despite the claims by many international media that the Malaysian authorities were trying to conceal information from passengers' families and the public.

“I don't think it's too slow. They need to find out before they spend any more time and money on the search efforts. It's very difficult for a group of countries to share their technology and work together,” he told Bernama at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) here on Wednesday.

The 29-years-old businessman also said that since 26 countries had given their commitments to assist in the task, it would be very challenging for Malaysia to lead the operation.

Amy Roxburgh, 20, shared a similar view and hoped all the 239 passengers and crew onboard were still alive and safe even though the tragedy occurred almost two weeks ago.

“That plane is gone, nobody knows what really happened. I hope they find it somewhere and they're all alive and okay somehow,” said the Swedish national, who is on vacation in Malaysia.

Indonesian Achmad Ismail Sudharto, 56, felt that this was not the time to blame the search and rescue teams who are working round the clock to find the missing plane.

Achmad who was heading to Jeddah, UAE for his pilgrimage said the whole world was grieving over the unknown fate of the passengers.

“We should be praying together for the success of the operation and for the passengers to be found safe and sound.

"This is the most massive search and rescue operations ever as it involves so many countries, we should be patient until the plane is found," he said.

To date, 26 countries are involved in the mission to search for the MH370 flight, which vanished after an hour after take-off from KLIA at 12.41 am on March 8.

It was scheduled to arrive in Beijing, China at 6.30 am the same day.
