MH370: Liow Tiong Lai attends prayer for passengers and crew in Bentong
The Malaysian Chinese Association and Buddhist organizations held prayers for the 239 passengers and crew on board missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370.
Hundreds of Malaysian Chinese and Buddhist attended the service which was held in Bentong on Sunday.
Malaysian Chinese Association President Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai during the service said the tragedy has witnessed unity and mutual support among people and countries.
The fact that the search has been going on for more than a month and rescuers still refused to give up despite the extreme difficulties exemplifies the power of humanitarianism.
“Humanitarianism transcends borders, races and beliefs and saved people from falling into the abyss of despair when they cannot stop worrying about those who are missing,” he said.
Liow added such prayers and activities have been held every week since the disappearance of the flight.
Kok Yek Yi, a Buddhist who attended the service, said she hoped that their prayers will help those missing in some small way no matter if they are alive or not.
