Some family members to the passengers of flight MH370 have begun to ‘accept the truth’ of what they may hear about the fate of the missing airplane.
This, according to Social Welfare Department (JKM) director-general Datuk Noraini Mohd Hashim, was the feedback she received from the 47 counsellors working around-the-clock at Everly Hotel, here.
“It is now the sixth day, there are families that have begun to accept the truth of the matter, of what they will be hearing, slowly, " said Noraini.
It was understood that 133 Malaysian family members are being placed at Everly Hotel while some 24 Chinese nationals are staying at Cyberview Lodge in Cyberjaya.
Another hotel, Pullman Hotel, is also being readied but has yet to receive any family members.
“There are still those who are stressed and sad, and there are also those who have gone home, one of them because she feels that she needed to be with her child in Ipoh,” she said.
For the families that are now staying at home, Noraini advised that they inform the state JKM if they feel that they needed counselling. “Just call and we will send someone over,” she said.
