“We miss daddy”
That is among the cries made by the son of senior steward onboard flight MH370, Wan Swaid Wan Ismail who remains hopeful of his father’s return.
His eldest son Wan Amirul Haziq, 12, misses the time spent with Wan Swaid.
“Daddy is quiet. He does not speak much. He does not like to get angry,” said Amirul when asked about his father.
As the eldest among three siblings, Haziq’s priority now is to support his mother.
Wan Swaid’s family especially his wife Nur Laila Ngah who was also a former stewardess with the Malaysia Airlines (MAS) has accepted this with open heart.
“He is quiet if you don’t know him but kind. Loving. He was a friend to me and he will be with me forever,” said Laila.
She added, should her family be taken to Perth, Australia, the children will be the priority to be taken there.
Prayers were held at Wan Swaid’s home in Sepang on Tuesday attended by family members and close friends.
Sadness filled the atmosphere of the ceremony which is expected to be held for three days ending on Thursday.
Wan Swaid was the youngest of 10 siblings from Pasir Mas, Kelantan.
He was also the father to three children and has been employed by MAS since 1995.
