Minimum wage revision to be conducted every two years

Deputy Human Resource Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Abdul Muttalib said the review was necessary to ensure that the pay received was appropriate and remained relevant with changing times.

"After two years we will sit down together with employers, workers and the government through the National Wage Coordination Committee to discuss on the wage revision," said Ismail, after visiting Maran parliamentary constituency on Friday.

Ismail, who is also Maran MP added that the implementation of minimum wage was always conducted in a fair manner with the involvement of all parties to reach a unanimous decision.

Ismail reminded employers to comply with the new minimum wage starting this July and urged workers to lodge a report with the authorities if they were not paid the minimum wage.
