The Tourism Ministry expressed its disappointment in a statement today, over the organisation of an entertainment event with negative elements in Port Dickson, last week.
"The Ministry will not hesitate to take stern legal action against the company which misrepresented that it was supported by Tourism Malaysia," it said.
"Neither the Ministry or Tourism Malaysia permitted the use of our logos for the event. We will investigate the incident thoroughly to prevent any such activities from giving a negative perception to the public, particularly in view of the 2014 Visit Malaysia Year," it added.
A recent tabloid report had stated that police managed to thwart the event known as 'Moon Soon Beach Party' by a beach in Port Dickson.
The organisers had allegedly used the name of a famous hotel in Port Dickson and Tourism Malaysia to sell online tickets at RM165 per pax and also served alcohol.
The police were tipped off by the public that several suspicious activities were taking place at the venue of the party.
