The Urban Well-being, Housing and Local Government Ministry hopes to receive a bigger allocation under the 2018 Budget.
Deputy Minister Datuk Halimah Mohamed Sadique said a bigger allocation would enable the ministry to carry out more People's Housing Projects (PPRs) in the states.
"We intend to have more PPRs which do not only focus on the lower-income group (B40) but also transit houses for youths who work in cities but are currently unable to afford to buy homes of their own. The transit houses are rented out to these youths.
"As such, the ministry has big plans in store for 2018 which encompass the needs of people from all walks of life in the city," she told reporters after attending a 'Korban Perdana Parlimen Tenggara' programme in Felda Linggiu here today.
Also present were Pantai State Assemblyman-cum-Deputy Speaker Datuk Baderi Dasuki, Felda Linggiu manager Abd Rozak Ahmad Marzuki and Kampung Felda Linggiu headman Mohamad Tahar Timuk.
