Ministry probing claims MyEG appointed agents to register foreign workers
Nur Jazlan said MyEG, the provider of online services for government departments had denied claims it appointed agents for the registration and renewal of the permits.
The home ministry has begun a probe into claims that MyEG Services Berhad or its officers have appointed agents for the registration or renewal of foreign worker permits.
Deputy Minister Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed said there were claims that MyEG - the only company appointed to register foreign workers online - had violated the condition they could not appoint agents.
"The ministry is probing MyEG and its officers over the claims. If they are true, it will make it difficult for the immigration department to control the entry of foreign workers," he told reporters after joining a raid on illegal immigrants at Bukit Damar here early today.
On Nov 5, Nur Jazlan said MyEG, the provider of online services for government departments had denied claims it appointed agents for the registration and renewal of the permits.
