Mazda UK has been fiddling around with the CX-5 to give it a few significant upgrades and updates to the standard equipment as well as some exterior enhancements for their EU customers.
The 2015 Mazda CX-5 model range is available in three grades; SE-L, SE-L Lux and Sport Nav. The range comprises three 2.0 litre petrol two-wheel drive variants equipped with six-speed manual transmissions, and thirteen 2.2 litre diesel versions - six of which are available with all-wheel drive - fitted with a choice of six speed manual or automatic transmissions.
Standard equipment updates gives front passenger seat height adjustments, an electronic parking brake, a coming/leaving home headlamp function and Mazda’s Multimedia Commander. The interior also features a new seven inch centre console touch-screen panel that allows drivers to control the radio. Two new USB ports are built into the new CX-5 while MZD Connect, a system to make flipping through social networking services easier, is available in the CX-5.
There are also a host of safety enhancements in the new EU spec CX-5 like the Adaptive LED headlamps, Lane-keep Assist System, Driver Attention Alert is now build into the existing Lane Departure Warning system and an Advanced Blind-Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert.
So what do you think about Mazda’s fiddled CX-5? Should it come to Malaysia quick? But first, let’s get to know the Mazda2 when it is introduced to our shores.
