Two victims, believed to be the skipper and a crewman of the missing catamaran in Sabah, have been found safe at about 2pm Sunday.
Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) deputy director for Sabah and Labuan Kapt Maritim Rahim Ramli said MMEA was notified by the company that the two were found in waters between Pulau Tiga and the Samarang offshore petroleum platform, The Star Online reports.
Pulau Tiga is about 53km away from Pulau Mengalum, and 50km from Tanjung Aru jetty.
The search is ongoing for the 28 China tourists and another crew member of the boat.
The catamaran is believed to have gone missing while en route from the Tanjung Aru jetty here to Pulau Mengalum, about 56km northwest from Kota Kinabalu.
The MMEA said the catamaran left the jetty at 9am.
