Missing headmistress: Son vows to quit job once mom is found
It was previously reported that Jashiah had been requesting for food from villagers in the area.
"I will quit my job and take care of mother after she is found," said Mohamad Syahidzul Izwan Ruzilan, 23, the eldest child of Jashiah Rabu, reported missing since last Friday.
Mohamad Syahidzul who started working at a hotel in Pangkor Island, Perak, last month, has decided to stop working to care for his mother who is suffering from breast cancer for the past two years.
Speaking to reporters at the search site, the Buluh Telur Orang Asli village here, he promised to give his full attention to his mother when found.
"My feelings are strong that my mother is still safe and I was also looking for her yesterday around 2am to 4am because I am confident she is in this area," he said, having taken time off since Sunday.
Jashiah, 53, a headmistress of a school in Keramat, Kuala Lumpur, was last seen leaving her house in Taman Seri Seruling, here, on the afternoon of Oct 23.
A police report was lodged by her husband, Ruzilan Omar, 57, the next day.
It is understood that Jashiah headed towards the Bukit Kutu forest reserve, here, after leaving her house on foot, and by hitching a ride.
Meanwhile, Hulu Selangor district police chief, Supt R. Supramaniam said the search and rescue operation, in its fourth day today, would continue until 7pm before being resumed tomorrow.
