Missing men found dead in ravine

The mystery surrounding two men who were reported missing last Friday was answered today when the car they were travelling in was found in a 100 metre ravine at KM 27, Jalan Raya Timur Barat, Gerik-Kupang near the Gerik-Baling border.
Gerik district police chief Supt Ismail Che Isa said relatives of the victims found the car, a Proton Wira, at about 1 pm on Tuesday and alerted the police.
The victims, Arif Akmal Kamaruzzaman, 25, and An Pon s/o Ai Pon, 26, both from Sik, Kedah, believed to have been thrown out of the car, were found dead near the vehicle, he said when contacted last night.
He said the assistance of the Fire and Rescue Department was sought to bring up the two bodies from the ravine.
