Miu Miu Engages With FW15 Campaign Video
Miu Miu just dropped its Fall/Winter 2015 campaign titled Subjective Reality shot by the renowned Steven Meisel, capturing an unanticipated, candid snapshot of New York City. It stars four fast-rising actresses – Mia Goth, Maddison Brown, Hailey Gates and Stacy Martin. The photos are nearly like an insider’s look into the city by framing his subjects within the hectic streets of New York with its innate energy and magnetism.
Models dressed in Miu Miu Fall/Winter 2015 are shot through car windows or caught waiting at bus stops or crossing a street. The images have a rebellious and improvisational spirit which matches the attitude of the collection with its clashing colours, textures and mash-up of materials.
Following the release of Subjective Reality, advertising campaign, Miu Miu released a short film also shot by Steven Meisel. Set completely on the gritty streets of New York City, the film mirrors the look of the campaign’s still photography. Keeping the camera low and close, the actresses are portrayed as urban passersby from slanting angles, around corners, and through vehicle windows, lending an intimate, almost stealthy feel. The actresses deliver a gaze that at times seems insolent as if interrupted mid-action by the invasive lens of the photographer.
We really like how Miu Miu manages to be an innovator in creating a new wave in fashion marketing, through presenting lifestyle imagery that is provocative, yet relevant.
