KUALA LUMPUR:The Muafakat Nasional (MN) cooperation between PAS and UMNO is based on parties and not on the influence of certain groups, said PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang.
Therefore, he said PAS did not care about the statements and allegations made by certain leaders or groups in UMNO regarding the future of the cooperation between the two parties.
Every decision regarding the direction and political cooperation would be discussed with the official leadership of UMNO, he said at a dialogue session with the media here today
He was commenting on an allegation that there was a group or movement in UMNO that was trying to threaten the cooperation between the two parties.
Meanwhile, Abdul Hadi said a letter seeking an audience with the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah, had been presented to the Perak palace.
"... (letter) has been received (by Perak palace) and has been answered. I do not need to give the date... when the time comes we will have an audience," he said.
