The Air Pollutant Index in Kota Tinggi, Johor stayed at a moderate level of 80 at 9am this morning.

According to the Department of Environment's (DOE) website, the situation in Bukit Rambai, Melaka continued to improve when its API reading dropped further from 84 to 82.

Apart from Bukit Rambai and Kota Tinggi, other areas recording moderate API included Pasir Gudang (72), Larkin (66), Muar (54) in Johor; Melaka City (63) in Melaka; Port Dickson (64), Seremban (62), Nilai (58) in Negeri Sembilan; SK Jalan Pegoh (55), Seri Manjung (51) in Perak and Putrajaya (55).

Among the 28 areas of 52 sites monitored by DOE with good API were Langkawi (48) in Kedah; Jerantut (25) in Pahang; Tanjung Malim (35) in Perak; Kangar (42) in Perlis, Petaling Jaya (44), Shah Alam (43) in Selangor, while the API reading in Kuala Lumpur was 49 in both Batu Muda and Cheras.

However, the API reading in Indera Mahkota, Pahang was not recorded due to a technical problem.
API reading of between 0-50 is categorised as good, 51 to 100 (moderate), 101 to 200 (unhealthy), 201 to 300 (very unhealthy) and 300 and above as hazardous.
