KUALA LUMPUR: The Ministry of Finance (MoF) has published a Budget 2023 public consultation paper (PCP), titled "Application of Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) Principles in Investments by Government-Linked Investment Companies (GLICs) and the Minister of FInance (Incorporated) (MoF Inc)".
"The PCP aims to obtain proposals based on ESG principles to increase the competitiveness of GLICs and MoF Inc, which will contribute to the country's sustainable development agenda," the MoF said in a statement today.
The ministry emphasised that the PCP is part of the MoF's overall efforts to ensure that the preparation of the annual budget is more transparent and inclusive, and welcomes any feedback on the PCP before or by Aug 23, 2022.
"It also provides an opportunity for all parties to contribute to the effort of drafting a budget that meets the people's needs, in line with the country's socio-economic development policy," it added.
