KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin does not need to wear a surveillance wristband during his current 14-day self-quarantine period.
It was based on the decision of an officer of the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) who has made an assessment, according to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).
"Based on the risk assessment made on Oct 5, the Prime Minister was only advised to undergo self-quarantine at his residence," the PMO said in a statement today.
Apart from that, Muhyiddin also needs to monitor his own health status at home every day for 14 days using the Home Assessment Tool in the MySejahtera application.
For that reason, the PMO said, the allegation by some parties that the Prime Minister violated the MOH directive, was not true at all.
Yesterday, during the Prime Minister's Special Message which was broadcast live, some parties claimed that Muhyiddin did not wear a surveillance wristband while he was in his own quarantine period.
Meanwhile, the PMO said apart from the screening test conducted on October 5, Muhyiddin had undergone three tests on September 22, 26 and 29, and all the results were negative.
However, the statement said Muhyiddin was advised to seek treatment at a nearby health facility immediately if he experienced symptoms during the surveillance period.
