MoH investigating source of positive COVID-19 case involving student in Kedah

The Ministry of Health (MOH) is actively investigating the cause of COVID-19 infection involving a student at an institution of higher learning in Kedah.

According to Director-General of Health, Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, the student was found positive after the MoH conducted a screening of 271 students to be sent back to Sabah and Sarawak.

So far, the student has been isolated and active contact tracking between close contacts has also been carried out.

“So far, we have identified nine of them.

“So, this is a case that has been detected through screening tests. Now, how the student was infected, is still under investigation.

“This is because Kedah is a green zone, so I think if it is close to his friends (or vice versa), we are still unsure.

"Let us conduct an investigation before we make any announcements on the matter," he said at a press conference here today.
