Candidates vying for Umno top posts in the party elections next month have been reminded to ensure that the contest does not disrupt unity.
Felda chairman Tan Sri Mohd Isa Samad who is contesting for one of the three vice-president's post said the candidates should comply with the party rules.
"It is a contest within the family and we should not raise things that can embarrass others. Conduct a clean campaign as an unhealthy campaign can affect the party's image," he told reporters after attending the Aidilfitri celebration of Felda Wilayah Mempaga here on Wednesday.
Mohd Isa hopes that the candidates and supporters involved in the contest for the posts would accept the result should they lose in the contest.
"We must reunite and support the winners. No used for cliques and disunity as the most important thing is Umno.
"Leaders can come and go, but Umno will remain to fight for the religion, race and country," he said.
