ALOR GAJAH: Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) supreme council member Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan Md Yusof has denied rumours that he would be leaving the party after being sidelined by the party leadership.
"In politics, we must follow the decision of the party. We must abide by the decision. Once in a while, we take offence, but there can never be two heads here," he said at a press conference held at the Alor Gajah Bersatu Parliamentary operations room here today.
Present were Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidate for Rembia state constituency, Zamzuri Arifin, Machap Jaya candidate Tai Siong Jiul and Asahan candidate B. Dhanesh.
Mohd Redzuan, who is also Alor Gajah Member of Parliament said politics today is not about the size of the party but also based on the ability of party leadership.
Thus, he said the most important criteria for any candidate to be chosen at Melaka state election on Nov 20 is the leadership ability of the candidate.
The Election Commission has set the Melaka State polls on Nov 20 and early voting on Nov 16 after Melaka's seventh Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Mohd Ali Rustam dissolved the State Assembly on Oct 5 when four ADUNs withdrew their support for the Chief Minister.
Melaka has 28 state seats and 495,195 registered voters.
