The Ministry of Human Resources (MOHR) has urged all employers with job vacancies to use the employment recruitment incentives programme platform provided by the government under PenjanaKerjaya to obtain local worker employment incentives.
Its Minister Datuk Seri M Saravanan said MOHR, through the Social Security Organisation (Socso), was ready to receive applications from employers for the worker employment incentives.
"In the National Economy Recovery Plan (Penjana) announced by the Prime Minister on June 5, it offers financial incentives to employers of between RM600 and RM1,000 for an employee or apprentice employed, for up to 6 months.
"Registration of employers' profiles and job seekers under PenjanaKerjaya, managed by Socso, has begun on June 15, 2020," he said in a statement today.
He said that from Jan 1 to June 30, the MYFutureJobs National Employment Services job portal (www.myfuturejobs.gov.my) posted an average daily of 3,088 job seekers daily and 2,692 job vacancies.
"This brings together more than 113,300 job seekers and almost 95,400 vacancies for existing job vacancies to be filled that were recorded by MYFutureJobs," he said.
Meanwhile, job seekers would be assisted to find suitable jobs through this programme, the government's initiative was aimed at boosting job creation and reducing unemployment.
He said this hiring incentive would include financial assistance for employers who employ school leavers, graduates, unemployed, terminated workers and apprentices, "he said.
In addition, under the MYApprentice scheme, employers were entitled to an incentive of RM600 per apprentice hired, and under the HireMalaysia scheme, employers employing jobless under-40 workers would receive an incentive of RM800 per worker.
"Meanwhile, those who employ unemployed people between the ages of 40 and 60 or Persons with Disabilities are eligible for an incentive of RM1,000 per worker. All these incentives will be given for 6 months to eligible employers, "he said.
Commenting further, he said other than hiring incentives, employers would also enjoy the benefit from having skilled workers if the recruitments were made via PenjanaKerjaya as the employees could be sent for skills and upgrading skills trainings.
