A compound notice has been issued to Monspace Malaysia Sdn Bhd for failing to submit its annual financial statement to the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM).
Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin said the company, which was allegedly operating Monspace Sky Airlines, should have submitted the statement last March but the SSM had yet to receive it within the prescribed period.
"Due to such failure, we have issued a compound notice and court action will be taken against the company if it still fails to submit the required statements," he told a press conference, here today.
Hamzah said the company had registered its business on Aug 22, 2014 but failed to submit its financial statements 15 months after the date, which was an offence under Section 165 of the Companies Act 1965.
On July 25, Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) director-general Datuk Seri Azharuddin Abdul Rahman said Monspace Sky Airlines or Suasa Airlines Sdn Bhd had to pursue its full air service permit (ASP) from the Malaysian Aviation Commission (Mavcom) before conducting any commercial air transport operations.
Azharuddin said although the airline had received its provisional ASP on Dec 15 last year, until today it had not been issued with full ASP.
It was reported that the private airline, which is currently operating from KL International Airport (KLIA), launched its inaugural flight from KLIA to Langkawi last Friday.
Earlier, Hamzah presented RM5,000 and 'duit raya' to 30 orphans from charitable organisations around Gombak at the SSM Aidilfitri open house here.
Also present was SSM chief executive officer Datuk Zahrah Abd Wahab Fenner.
