KUALA LUMPUR: Monsta, an intellectual property and character company behind animated series BoBoiboy and Papa Pipi, as well as films and consumer products, has taken the initiative to produce a short video featuring their popular animated duo, Papa Pipi, encouraging the public to get vaccinated.
Monsta's head of International Brand and Sales, Faiz Zainal Aabidin said that as a brand synonymous with family messages and protecting loved ones from enemy threats, Monsta responded to the government's call for the public to get vaccinated under the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme.
He said it was also to achieve herd immunity at an immediate rate.
"The COVID-19 virus spreads at every second, so getting vaccinated is important to prevent the spread of the dangerous virus.
"This special short video shows Papa Zola, who has this fear of needles and any type of injection. However, to protect the well-being of his daughter Pipi Zola and the whole family, Papa Zola decided to go to the vaccination centre (PPV) to get the injection," he said in a statement, here today.
Also featured in the video is the presence of Tok Aba, the grandfather of local superhero BoBoiBoy, at the PPV as one of the vaccine recipients.
The short video can be viewed on Monsta's official Youtube channel or on Papa Pipi and BoBoiBoy's social media pages with the hashtag #CucukVaksinJadiHero.
It was also aired on local television stations as well as on the Indonesian television channel.
Last year, Papa Pipi's public service announcement videos on COVID-19, titled Pesanan Papa Pipi: Duduk Rumah Diam Diam! Jauhi Covid-19! and the song, Ayuh Cuci Tangan, had sparked a phenomenon on YouTube.
