More victims in Pahang floods

The number of flood victims in Pahang continued to increase to 39,580 in the evening from 38,235 this afternoon.
According to a spokesman for the flood operations room, state police contingent headquarters, the victims from 10,925 families were at 121 relief centres in eight districts as at 4pm today.
They are from 128 flood-hit villages.
"Kuantan still has the highest number of flood evacuees at 34,222 who are temporarily housed at 38 relief centres," the spokesman told Bernama, here, today.
In Pekan, 3,464 flood victims are at 26 relief centres, in Temerloh 847 (at 22 relief centres), Jerantut 520 (10), Maran 315 (nine), Bera 106 (eight), Rompin 53 (four) and Lipis 53 (four).
Meanwhile, several main roads are still closed to traffic after being inundated up to more than a metre. Among the affected stretches are Km28 Jalan Sungai Lembing-Kuantan, Km72 Jalan Kuantan-Segamat and Km14 Jalan Temerloh-Bahau.
