Malaysia will deport a North Korean held in connection with the death of Kim Jong Nam, and cancel visa-free entry for all North Koreans, as diplomatic ties between the two countries frayed further following the murder at Kuala Lumpur's airport.
Malaysia is in close contact with the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), particularly regarding the recent incident involving the death of a North Korean national at Kuala Lumpur National Airport 2 (klia2).
According to Foreign Affairs Ministry's statement, the OPCW has provided the Malaysian authority with some technical materials that were requested to assist in its investigation.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar today dismissed claim by North Korea that Kim Chol probably died of a heart attack.
Khalid said Malaysian experts had already confirmed that Kim Chol died after two women suddenly wiped his face with their hands laced with suspected poison which was later confirmed to be VX nerve agent.
The Syrian army said on Thursday it had recaptured the ancient city of Palmyra from Daish militants for the second time in a year, with help from allied forces and Russian warplanes.
Daish seized Palmyra in a surprise advance in December, after having been driven out eight months before.
