Woman found chained in Serdang Raya

A woman was found in a humiliating manner with her upper body chained in front of the 3K Complex in Serdang Raya near here today.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director Mohd Sani Harul said the department received a distress call at 9.45am.

The woman was chained from her neck to abdomen. She was handed over to police for further action.


Perkasa wants corrupt jailed for life, whipped

Right wing Malay movement Perkasa has proposed that the corrupt be subjected to mandatory caning and jailed for life.

Its Integrity and Anti-Corruption Bureau chairman, Jais Abdul Karim said such severe punishment equivalent to the penalty for drug trafficking must be imposed to curb corruption in the country.

The government should also introduce a new act to enable those being investigated for corruption to be detained indefinitely without bail.


Costa back to fire Chelsea, Wenger sent off as Arsenal chase

Diego Costa returned for Chelsea with deadly effect on Sunday, scoring in the 2-0 win over Hull City which increased their lead at the top of the Premier League to eight points after Arsenal had earlier taken up the mantle as their nearest pursuers.

The Gunners beat Burnley 2-1 at the Emirates where the real drama came in injury time when each side scored a penalty and Arsene Wenger clashed with the fourth official after being sent off for disputing the first spot-kick.

At least 14 people killed in Georgia amid string of winter tornadoes

TORNADOES ripped through rural southern Georgia on Sunday, killing at least 14 people, flattening much of a mobile-home park and prompting the governor to declare a state of emergency in seven counties near the Florida border.

The storms were the latest in a bout of violent weather in the southeastern United States that also killed four people in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, on Saturday. In Georgia, seven people were killed in Cook County, with two more deaths each in neighboring Brooks and Berrien counties, and three in Dougherty County, according to the Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency.

Trump trade strategy starts with quitting Asia pact - White House

The new U.S. administration of President Donald Trump said on Friday its trade strategy to protect American jobs would start with withdrawal from the 12-nation Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade pact.

A White House statement issued soon after Trump's inauguration said the United States would also "crack down on those nations that violate trade agreements and harm American workers in the process."
