SEREMBAN: Islam is a religion that serves as the foundation of all aspects of life, in line with ever-changing conditions and the passage of time, said the Yang Dipertuan Besar Negeri Sembilan Tuanku Muhriz Almarhum Tuanku Munawir.
Tuanku Muhriz added that stakeholders responsible for the administration of mosques and surau in the state need to understand the philosophy of the existence and primary role of these houses of worship as institutions that unite the ummah.
"The new norms for prayers is a good example that shows Islam understands the reality of the current situation without denying the perfection of prayer for a Muslim.
"This method of prayer can be experienced through an interaction of knowledge to create a true understanding that will not cast doubts on Islam and jeopardise its credibility," he said in conjunction with the Negeri Sembilan state Maulidur Rasul celebration tonight.
He said that committee members must always protect mosques and surau from being tainted with divisive activities that could cause schisms in the congregation, including political activities or committing acts against Islam.
Tuanku Muhriz also said that the state government must continue to administer the state well to ensure that its people were prosperous through people-centric initiatives regardless of race, religion or political creed.
He said the state's wealth and prosperity should be enjoyed by all, without anyone left behind.
"I am happy with the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme that is going on. This effort will not be a success without the dedication, commitment and role played by all the frontliners, as well as those behind the scenes," he said.
Tuanku Muhriz also expressed his gratitude to Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun's leadership, the civil servants and private companies who worked together to ensure the recovery of the state.
He also praised the noble efforts of those involved in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic, especially health frontliners, police and armed forces personnel, grassroots volunteers at the district, town and sub-district levels in the state.
He, therefore, urged all the people in the state to show their concern and help reduce the burden of the frontliners by complying with the standard operating procedures in an effort to stop the spread of COVID-19.
On the reopening of schools in the state, Tuanku Muhriz said all implementation of operation plans for educational institutions should be carried out properly.
"All parties involved need to play their part to ensure that formal and informal education of the children in this state is always prioritised so as to nurture a generation of noble character and values," he said.
