MOSTI leads two TN50 main themes - Madius
Datuk Seri Madius Tangau said the two themes were the leading ideas of the various forms of the current economy and community that are intertwined and innovative as well as adapted to new technology.
The Science, Technology and Innovation Ministry will lead two main themes under the National Transformation 2050 (TN50) to ensure the country continues to remain relevant in the face of changes at the national and global levels.
Its minister Datuk Seri Madius Tangau said the two themes were the leading ideas of the various forms of the current economy and community that are intertwined and innovative as well as adapted to new technology.
"The future of our country and survival depended heavily on our flexibility to adapt to changes and development in technology as well readiness to make it a part of the culture of life.
"If not, we will not only be left behind, but also be irrelevant. Three aspects that needed to be achieved by 2050 are to be on the list of top 20 countries for the gross domestic product, creativity and innovation index and happiness index," he said.
Madius, who is also Tuaran Member of Parliament, was speaking at the closing and prize presentation of the Inclusive Innovation Challenge 2017, Sabah Zone here, Sunday.
"To meet the aspirations of the N50, the country needs to tap the talents that can face the challenges ahead and have the features of learn, re-learn, co-learn and co-create," he said.
Hence, Madius called on all parties at the ministry, agency, institution level or the people to make the development of talents in science, technology and innovation to be part of the mainstream development in Malaysia''s move towards 2050.
