MRT accident: Bodies to be flown home tomorrow

MRT Corp CEO Datuk Wira Azhar Abdul Hamid resigned over the incident.
The bodies of three Bangladeshi workers who were crushed to death in the MRT worksite accident on Monday will be flown to their country, tomorrow.
MRT Corp in a media statement said the bodies of Mohamad Faruk Khan, aged 38, Mohammad Alauddin Mollik, aged 34 and Mohammad Elahi Hossain, aged 27 will be flown to Shahjalal International Airport, Dhaka and are scheduled to arrive tomorrow morning.
The bodies will be received by their families.
“Family members of the victims have been informed of the incident. SMPP held tahlil prayers for the victims last night, and will be performing solat jenazah ghaib before they are flown to Bangladesh,” the statement read.
The three men had started working in Malaysia in March 2014.
On Monday, the three were trapped beneath the span of the MRT guideway which had dislodged from its piers and fallen on the ground below.
The bodies were recovered the next day.
Following the incident, MRT Corp chief executive officer Datuk Wira Azhar Abdul Hamid, taking full responsibility, tendered his resignation.
