The Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) project is set to change the people's lifestyle as public transportation becomes a daily norm, said Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

The Prime Minister said the MRT was not just an infrastructure project but something designed with the consumers or rather the people in mind.

"The MRT Sungai Buloh-Kajang (SBK) line is one of such projects.

"There are many other projects which have been planned and are being planned for the long term," he commented in his blog NajibRazak.com.

Najib is scheduled to officiate Phase 1 of MRT SBK covering 12 stations between Sungai Buloh and Damansara on Thursday.

He said the government under his leadership had focused on projects like these as they would benefit everyone.

"We want the people to move in tandem with the nation's progress, neither should be ahead or be left behind," he said.

He said the MRT project would be the initiator, mover and driver of modern mode of transportation to push Malaysia forward. -- Bernama
