MRT Semantan mishap: Injured Bangladeshi worker stable

The condition of the Bangladeshi worker who was injured in an accident at the Mass Rapit Transit (MRT) construction site at Portal Semantan near Bukit Semantan here on Feb 27, is reported to be stable, MMC Gamuda KVMRT (PDP) Sdn. Bhd.Deputy Construction Director Adil Putra Ahmad said in a statement here Tuesday.
He said arrangements were also being made to repatriate the body of Rijaul Abdul Goni who was killed in the accident back to his home country, Bangladesh. His body was flown to Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka late Tuesday evening, Adil Putra said.
"The Department of Safety and Health (DOSH) has begun investigations with the full cooperation from the work package contractor (WPC).
"The Klang MRT Project Delivery Partner's (PDP) internal investigation into this incident is currently ongoing and have some early findings," he said.
"MMC Garuda extends its deepest sympathies to the families of the victims involved in this unfortunate incident," Adil Putra added.
He also said Sunway Construction, the work package contractor (WPC) for this section of the alignment has taken full responsibility for the incident and has adhered to the immediate Stop Work Order issues by DOSH on the day of the incident.
He noted that this was in compliance with all Standard Operating Procuders (SOPs) which PDP had maintained throughtout the development of this major project.
